I make thrown and slip-painted domestic earthenware and I apply a range of coloured slips in varying degrees of thickness over wax resist and stencils.
My work is all about flow, rhythm, movement and colour. I find all these in the natural world and in the urban environment and where the two meet.
Leaves and stalks scattered on the ground, around a drain grid or over a tarmac road surface. Birds adorn a plate in a rhythmical way and a ‘birds in flight’ motif will express movement as well as rhythm.
