The organic sculptural forms I produce are made of multiple pieces, which are combined to produce a cohesive whole. These are composed of delicate porcelain forms, which are supported within a porcelain coated nichrome wire armature. Some pieces have additions of Egyptian
paste. The disparate quality of the materials produces a visual as well as a physical tension in the pieces and they have a feeling of lightness and movement in space, while the skeletal nature of the forms retains the essence of nature’s fragility and vulnerability.
