Kazuya Ishida

Born in 1986 in the city of Bizen, famous for its long and celebrated history of ceramic artistry.

I use wood kiln(Nobori gama)10m’s long and takes 9 days firing. The most important thing for me is “Keshiki” (the land scape of the pot) which is the effects of the fire and ash on the unglazed pots.

I want to express my relationship with the natured clay. I use the wheel’s centrifugal force in my own special technique which demonstrates this force at the same time.
